North Nanaimo Early Learning Centre is a licensed group childcare for 16 children aged 30 months to school age. We believe it essential that daycare provide a nurturing environment for children and a support system for families.

The staff facilitate the individual child’s development by encouraging the child to establish a positive self-concept and by providing opportunities for active participation through play and positive interaction with adults, peers, and the environment.

We base our centre on an early learning program that creates the building blocks for each child’s foundation of learning. We encourage the child on a daily basis to use his/her full potential.

We offer one to one interaction for early learning on a daily basis, and we provide a thematic approach with preschool programming offering arts and crafts, music, computers, books, circle times, early reading / writing / math, toys, and manipulatives, blocks. We have games for sorting, patterning, sequencing, graphing, counting, measuring and alphabet.

This was our daughter’s first real experience with a daycare. In a new city and new spoken language, she has adjusted amazingly well. She now runs to the daycare in the morning, eager to see her friends. That is priceless.
